Paula Hollowell, (formerly Paula Moore), the founder of Sunshine Estate Liquidators has lived in South Hillsborough County since 1980. As a military child who moved frequently, she developed early skills in packing, organizing, and letting go of cherished belongings. Later, while running a successful pet sitting business, she further honed her time management and caregiving abilities—qualities that now guide her approach to working with seniors and their families.

A Calling Sparked by Personal Stories

The journey to starting Sunshine Senior Movers began when a longtime client—without nearby family—asked for help downsizing and moving into assisted living. Helping sort through decades of keepsakes, travel mementos, and family treasures revealed not only the magnitude of the task but also the need for compassionate, capable assistance.

“There was no family close by and they asked me to help them pack and downsize their home. Cherished possessions told a story of work, kids, grandkids, extensive world travels and community service projects. It was a daunting task, but oh, what a sense of accomplishment and well-being I had when finished.”

This calling became personal after she helped downsize her own mother into a memory care facility. The emotional complexity of deciding what to keep, sell, or donate offered valuable insight that now shapes the company’s sensitive and respectful approach to senior transitions.
